#101
Does the number 101 mean anything? To some it may not, but for those counted among that number, it is of huge importance. That number represents the number of life-changing Spinraza doses given cervically at OSU. That number represents hope for current and future patients. That number, while significant, is just a starting point for a drug that is making a difference in so many lives. I really enjoy going to OSU for these injections. Well, maybe not the driving for two hours or traffic parts but definitely the people and overall experience. Each time we visit, we learn something new about the process. For me, this is very interesting. I love hearing about how something works or how it went from a thought to an actual product. Adding how beneficial Spinraza and other drugs like it are impacting SMA folks, well you could just say my knowledge seeking mode goes into overdrive. So when I go there and learn even slivers of information about other people's results or how research continues to improve a drug that is already helping, well it gives me hope and excitement. With every dose Chris receives, we are encouraged with what the future could look like. Not just our future, the future of our family and other families that are impacted by SMA. This drug is giving families hope and a new perspective for their future. We know that Spinraza is not the only one giving us hope during this adventure. God is providing the largest dose of hope. He has continued to show Himself and guide us along the way. We know we are doing the right thing even though there are times that doubt and anxiety rear their ugly heads. Then again we know those are bumps that pop up when God's plans are in motion. They are either Satan trying to discourage us or God testing our trust in Him. Either way, we continue to travel on this adventure God has us on fully trusting He has some wonderful plans set up for us.
