Buckeyes were everywhere today
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Brutus wears grey and red,
That’s right, it's an update from OSU!
Chris had an appointment today at OSU to see where his starting point is for upcoming injections and to show us how parts of the process are going to go. At one point today, Chris could have told you what a lab rat/guinea pig must feel like. We both agree that this aggravation is important for future patients as well as for himself, though. He said he would gladly be a guinea pig in order to move this study of the drug for adults with SMA along as well as prove the drug works.
We have been quiet about what we’ve been pushing through for this Spinraza journey. We felt at times that we were tiptoeing and would never get to the next step. During this time, God was pointing out areas in us that needed maturing, strengthening, and brought back to Him. We are still a work in progress, but it seems our patience has paid off. We have a schedule for the injections, a plan in place to jump over hurdles that the doctors foresaw down the path, and all clears from several doctors. We are so ready for this!
So please join us in praying for us to safely travel to OSU over the next two months, that all meds work well together, the injection does improve Chris’ health, and that God keeps his hands on this journey.
P.S. The first Spinraza dose is set for Monday September 17th. Only 10 days away!
