Why the wait, God?

Hello followers. I was not planning on writing a lot for this blog except for when there are updates to share. Yet I feel called to add more time and info to it. There is so much going on besides doctors’ visits or physical transformations (future hopes here). There are spiritual struggles going on as well. So, this update is one of those (spiritual in nature).
When I read or hear scripture from the Bible, I have always been pulled toward the underdog: the broken, lost, and/or the disabled. Each of these stories has a way of bringing more underdogs closer to God. And truthfully, aren’t we all, at least a little bit, underdogs. While I do not claim to be a writer anywhere near the skill level of any of those in the Bible, I am a Christian following what I feel God wants me to do just like they were. So, when I felt God telling me that our adventure is not just about the easily seen stuff and that I needed to write about ALL aspects, even the scary spiritual stuff that is easier to hide, I listened.
Since hearing the news that we must wait, we have been fighting for control of the situation. Chris has called other hospitals (that he has since found out are administering the treatments) and continues to hear that they won’t/can’t treat him there. We are ready for this transformation to happen, but God says not yet.
Why God? We are ready to jump into this new opportunity you have placed before us. Why won’t you let us jump?
We are slowly coming to realize that God wants us to give him complete control of this portion of our lives. This has been a daily struggle since hearing God say “Let ME have control.” We know He is here with us and that his timing is for the best, but we still struggle. Right now, God has us in a waiting posture that we don’t find comfortable, but I believe we are here until we learn something. Whatever it is will equip us for the struggles and achievements of our adventure. One morning after a tough few days of struggling, a scripture came up in our daily reading:
At that time you will say, “Praise the Lord and call out his name! Tell everyone what he has done and how wonderful he is.”
Isaiah 12:4 ERV
This scripture told both of us that our struggles were going to be well worth the wait. No one ever said obeying God was an easy task, but it is definitely a rewarding one. So, we will learn to give over control and whatever else we need to learn. Hopefully our adventure will help others along the way and will be able to show how big of a miracle this truly is both physically and spiritually.
When I think back to the stories of the underdogs of the Bible, each one was asked to tell the good news about God. These people had family and friends that saw the differences and grew closer to God because of it. I know that by improving Chris’s health with these treatments, more people will be called closer to God because of His light shining through Chris. The bigger miracle will be happening then. So, I will continue to update with Chris’s progress, but I will also show our struggles and progression spiritually with this adventure. We are not perfect and we know it, but just as I pointed out, God has used countless imperfect people to carry out His plan throughout time. I just pray that our flaws and imperfections are used to carry out a great work for God during this adventure.
